Feature Controls let an Administrator turn entire Pro modules on or off and select the individual capabilities included in each module. Disabling a feature hides or stops its active workflows without deleting settings or historical records.
Required access: Employee Time Logger settings-management permission and an Active Pro license.
How master and sub-feature switches work
- The large checkbox at the top of a card is the master switch.
- The arrow opens the card's Included options.
- The master switch overrides all sub-features. When it is off, none of that module's sub-features run.
- Sub-feature selections are retained while the master is off, so the prior configuration can be restored later.
- Some sub-features mirror a detailed setting elsewhere. Both the feature permission and the detailed rule must be enabled for that workflow to run.
Change feature controls
- Go to Time Logger > Settings.
- Select the Features tab.
- Select a module's master checkbox to enable it.
- Select the arrow on the right side of the card.
- Select only the Included options the organization will use.
- Repeat for each module.
- Select Save feature controls.
- Reload the relevant Time Logger section and confirm the intended tabs and controls appear.

Managed weekly payroll
- Enable Payroll & Approvals: periods, certification, approvals, overtime, reminders, and exports.
- Enable Lunch and Meal Policies.
- Enable Employee Self-Service corrections.
- Enable only the Workforce Notification types managers agree to monitor.
Scheduled field workforce
- Add Scheduling & Attendance, Projects, Teams, Location Verification, and selected alerts.
- Start Location Verification in Record Only or Record and Flag mode before enforcing a geofence.
- Test every employee device and work location.
Safely disable a module
- Finish any open workflow, such as pending approvals, requests, or an active payroll export.
- Export or record information that managers still need.
- Turn off the master switch and save.
- Confirm the associated tab is hidden and scheduled tasks stop when applicable.
- Review System Status for unexpected Attention items.
Re-enabling the module restores access to its retained configuration and records. Always test before assuming a scheduled workflow resumes immediately.

- Confirm the current user has permission for that page.
- Reload the page after saving.
Verify changes
Use both an Administrator session and a non-administrator employee or supervisor session. Confirm visible tabs, allowed actions, emails, and scheduled jobs. Feature-control changes are recorded in the Audit Log for later review.
